Ten Pound Challenge & Weigh in #6

Today after spending some time at the studio with Nik & Tujuana, we all decided we needed a little push to get ourselves over a 10 pound hump we were struggling with. (yes, even our NuLife staff even get stuck too), So we all honestly weighed each other in an vowed to push past our plateaus by not overindulging, increasing workouts and sacrificing something to see significant changes over the next 30 days! Keep in mind 10lbs was just the number we felt we wanted to see gone right now but any losses are pounds gone!

Meanwhile, after teaching my infamous Monday step class today, I was compelled to do a pep talk at the end of class to motivate the class to not give up. I explained to them that this fitness journey is not easy by any means. You're going to have days where you don't want to workout, days where you're tired of eating the same things, and of course, days where you want to give up all together. However, the time we spend giving up on working out is time wasted that you could've been spent working on your goal, because you will one day decide to try to get in shape again! It's inevitable, we all have done it at some point. The words I spoke today were put on my heart to relay to the class and there were actually a few people who afterwards told me they needed to hear that and THAT my friends are the moments that I live for.

I will not post the weights of anyone other than myself, but I will post the losses for each of the challengers, so stay tuned and feel free to join In with us! Start by incorporating an extra day of fitness this week....you have until Sunday so LET'S GO!

For the next 30 days I Must Make Changes to See Changes!" Starting w/ Green tea instead of Sangria tonight! :)

Challengers: Tujuana, Nik,Stephanie,Brev,Prudence,Lanetta, Veronica, Fatima, Kim C, Corrine, Tomica, myself & YOU! Leave a comment & let us know what you're giving up or changing for the next 30 days, we'd love to hear from you.

  1. I just want the challengers to know that consistency is the key. No matter how hard it gets you have to keep pushing through it. Give every rep of every set your all and u will see the results you want in no time. Good luck to all.

  2. I always wanted to become a better swimmer but I did not want to get my hair wet and I was a little afraid of the "Deep End". I actually went to the pool on Friday...I will go to the pool at least once a week either to practice swimming or a fitness class.

  4. OKAY...Miesha has put me on blast so I must rise to the challenge! I am about to make a confession that will shock many of you only because I preach this to you weekly...I DO NOT EAT ENOUGH!!!! I have also been inconsistent with my workouts.

I vow to eat 6 times a day, workout a minimum of 4 days a week at NuLife and include other outside activities. I will stay focused!

I will also give up my flax seed chips and Energy Mix nuts. It's not that they are bad, but I always over indulge and eat 5x the serving amount (LOL)!

And as I was reading Miesha's post regarding this challenge, I opted for green tea instead of "something else". lol

IT'S ON NOW...I am at a weight that I have not seen since April 2008 and it must go!!!! This is the motivation I needed.

  8. Yesterday was a good day. Got it in with Miesha and had great conversation with some old timers that I used to watch when I was new to the game. I also got it in with Kanela in Step Class. It's good to know that we are not in this alone. Now that I know I am being watched it's my motivation.

Oh Yeah...I got my crunches in and maybe it would have been easier to do in sets of 50. But I did a ton of variations. My stomach hurts so bad that I dare not put anything in there that doesn't belong. LOL

  9. Man this is a battle. Step Class, Sauna time, 300 crunches and I still got a little run in tonight. I must admit I am not doing to well on the eating end...not craving anything, just not eating. I must do better. I had bowl of Kashi cereal and a Java Jolt. smh! But I am still moving forward because I am still more motivated than I have been in awhile.

  10. Okay first week is down and I must say that it feels good to get those vacation pounds off. But now the real challenge begins. I ended the week off with a total of 900 crunches and it truly hurts to laugh. I went to the grocery store and I vow to eat on the days that I am off. Great job on the pounds shed last week to all!

It's nice to see all of the old timers getting it in again and motivating one another. A little birdie told me that an old timer is returning to personally challenge the Boss Lady! LOL!!!!!! LET'S GO CHALLENGERS!

  11. Saturday I weighed in and lost 3lbs after seeing a disappointing weight gain on the scale last Monday. I DID NOT have anything sweet on Saturday and I must pat myself on the back because I have been working hard during the week to treat myself to something I really should not have.

I completed the running schedule for last week. It seems as though I was finding excuses not to complete the recommended 3 short runs...BUT NO MORE. I ran a total of 15 miles last week and I must say it feels good! I will say this...AB exercises are NO JOKE. I was able to do 900 last week and the last 300 was compliments of my 2 year old niece Niya who sat on my stomach for at least 150 of them!

So far so good! What a great start to a 30 Day Challenge! Go Luck Nulife Fam!

  12. Is the 300 crunches suppose to be done all in one sitting or through out the day?
